This painting presents three heads—a Buddha, a human, and a hyena—to explore the tension between spirituality, humanity, and animal instinct.

The Buddha figure is drawn from my childhood memories, where its distant and severe presence felt unsettling rather than comforting. It also reflects my skepticism toward religious authority, which I see as passive in times of crisis. The human figure references the cannibal from Hannibal, while the hyena, a scavenger, embodies raw survival and decay.

Though these figures suggest the divine, the human, and the animal, they blur into one another. Each carries the potential for violence, questioning the boundaries between morality, belief, and instinct.

Love the new artwork in my office and living room. It lifts us up everyday, acts as a conversation piece in Zoom calls, and we love the most being able to support artists in our communities as well.
